This is an example from a Kindergarten in-service lesson. It shows how different people problem-solve and how there are many ways to solve a problem. You may have seen it somewhere before but here it is. Try it out!
Step#1: Count the number of squares
(no more than 1 min).
Step#2: Find a friend and have them count
all the squares (no more than 1 min).
Step#3: Tell each other the amount of squares you
counted.
Step#4: Explain to your friend the strategy you
used to count the squares.
Step#5: Work together to count the square and
see how many you have!
